God working in the New Testament

This list as well as the Old Testament list will be ever changing as I add more context.

The New Testament is just as saturated with God’s supernatural activity—through Jesus’ miracles, the Spirit’s power, and the Father’s direct speech—as the Old, and it shows that the same God continues His work in a new covenant way.

God still speaking and acting

God does not retire after the Old Testament; in the Gospels the Father speaks audibly from heaven at Jesus’ baptism, at the Transfiguration, and shortly before the cross, affirming His Son and His saving mission. Jesus then performs a wide range of miracles—healings, exorcisms, nature miracles, and raisings from the dead—that reveal God’s compassion and authority breaking into people’s daily lives. After Jesus’ ascension, the Book of Acts records the risen Christ and the Holy Spirit continuing to guide, empower, and speak to believers through visions, prophetic words, angelic visits, and miraculous signs.

Miracles of Jesus and the apostles

Careful counts of the Gospel narratives list around three to four dozen distinct miracles of Jesus, including turning water to wine, calming storms, multiplying food, healing all kinds of diseases, casting out demons, and raising several people from the dead. The apostles and other early Christians also perform miracles in Jesus’ name—such as healings, exorcisms, and dramatic judgments—not to compete with Him, but to bear witness that the risen Christ continues to act through His body, the church. These signs are consistently described as “wonders” that confirm the message of the gospel, much like Old Testament miracles confirmed God’s word through Moses and the prophets.

Visions, prophecies, and God’s voice

The New Testament also contains numerous visions and prophetic revelations: Joseph’s guidance by dreams in Matthew, Peter’s rooftop vision in Acts 10, Paul’s Damascus Road encounter and later visions, and the sweeping apocalyptic visions of Revelation. God’s voice and direction come not only through audible speech, but also through the Holy Spirit speaking to communities, directing missionary journeys, and revealing future events. A variety of New Testament passages explicitly mention prophets and prophecy within the early church, showing that God continued to communicate actively with His people as they navigated a new era of mission.

A spreadsheet-style project for the New Testament

Just as with the Old Testament, it is possible to build a book‑by‑book spreadsheet of New Testament supernatural events, but doing so thoroughly involves many dozens of rows covering every miracle, vision, dream, prophecy, angelic encounter, and direct divine speech. Several resources already lay the groundwork in a structured way, such as complete lists of Jesus’ miracles with references, charts of New Testament dreams and visions, and tables of wonders and signs in Acts and the Epistles. A practical next step would be to merge those into your own four-column sheet (Book, Reference, Description, Category), parallel to what you are building for the Old Testament, so you can see at a glance how God has been speaking and acting across the whole Bible story.
